Carl Zeiss manufactured the mirror telescope (reflector) in Jena. It is equipped with an Andor iKon-L DW432-BV CCD camera with square pixels of 22.5 μm in size. The image scale is approximately 0.619 arcsecond/pixel, where the matrix size is 1250×1152 pixels, translating into a field of view of ~13′×12′. Additionally, an autoguider camera — the Atik 314L+ — is installed on the telescope. Stepper motors perform the so-called micro-movements. Guiding accuracy: ~0.2 px (~0.1 arcsec) in both axes.

The observations are carried out using a set of UBV (RI) C filters of the Johnson-Kron-Cousins system and two H-α filters (narrow and wide). The telescope dome, 6 meters in diameter, is equipped with motors for its rotation. The instruments are operated using proprietary software written by employees and PhD students of the Astronomical Institute of the University of Wrocław.

Among the observers from Białków, the 60-cm telescope is called BLT (Białków Large Telescope). There are plans to build a second telescope with a mirror diameter of 32 cm (BST - Białków Small Telescope).
